Did you know that the original line was "Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in DALLAS with all that stuff"? They changed it to "Vegas" because JFK had just gotten shot, and they didn't want to remind people of it. If you watch his lips, he is clearly saying "Dallas" but it was dubbed "Vegas" afterward.

And Sellars was originally planned to play the role of Major Kong but a broken leg prevented it.
FWIW, the USAF was of no help making the film but once it opened they were all over the Kibrick and crew wanting to know how they got so much fairly accurate.
