Why do you have terrain on at FL280? I hate those stupid blue sweepy things.

Not much of a harmattan this year. I think it'll be wet, too.

Well, I don't need radar, 'cuz the airport is about 100 miles in front of me, into the sun. What would you suggest?

Radar and terrain display off?

Just curious, thought it might be some wacky requirement in Africa.

Are the -900's PACKs a lot different than the -200's? Temps like those in a CRJ2 would freeze them out.

Yes, that's typical in the -700 and -900. They won't freeze. And you never need manual mode. The automatic temp works well.

TCAS inop is a no-go item for me. Terrain... well, not a lot of that in the whole continent of Africa. But, there are definitely some really big rocks sticking out of the ground near the capital of Nigeria.
