KC-135 at Macdill AFB
#3
I had my first KC-135R ride out of McConnell AFB back in the mid 80s.
I laid down in a small space that was to the right of the boom operator. I got to see F-4s and FB-111s refueled. It looked so close I felt like I could reach out and touch the pilots. They were suppose to refuel some B-52s too but they canceled.
Many years later I would have very mixed feelings about the KC-135. Luckily for me - I never had a dance that didn't go well with the Iron Maiden and the only injury I got was a small dent on the refueling probe panel over the Med in some pretty bad weather.
Thanks for sharing the photo flyjets1.
