Default Swiss A340

Just got back from vacation in Switzerland. Some Swiss related aviation photos.

LAX-ZRH: 11 hours of sheer boredom. Also, the A340-300 climbs like a PIG with ankle weights.

Flight coming home was on the first day that Switzerland reopened its airspace after the volcano SNAFU (tuesday). Only 80 people on the whole plane, amazingly. Downside was the extra 90 minutes tacked on to the flight to fly well north of Iceland and through central Greenland. Entered US airspace at Montana. LONG flight.

Little hair-dryers for engines.

Towing in to the gate due to the narrow alley at LAX.

Captain Schneider at the helm.

Little engines so it won't hurt "Mother Earth" on Earth Day. We went to tiptoe with our carbon footprint, especially today.
