Nice shot, at least it was cool up there.

I used to fly with a guy who thought it was good sport to fly at 18,000+ feet for hours at a time without oxygen. I hardly noticed any change in his brain function.

Well, in fairness, I sort of cheated. I took off from Prescott, AZ which is at 5050ft. So I didn't have that far to go. It still took a good 20-25 minutes though. Gotta love summer in the high desert!

The scariest part was the takeoff! The terrain rises off of 21R/L, and I've had to make shallow turns on more than one occasion to avoid it!

What did/do you do in the Corps?

Funny you two should mention O2! I've found that it's best not to crack jokes that make you laugh hard while that high with a passenger (or yourself if you're into telling jokes that way...)! We had a great time, but the signs of hypoxia were there.

And your right about the temps!! It's the best way to beat the heat here!

Ahh I miss Prescott. Always having to ask for early turns in the 160hp 172s in the summer. Or watching the controllers deal with right and left downwinds on 12/30.
