Default Top Gear taping in North Carolina

I was visiting family in Charlotte and while driving along the Blue Ridge Pkwy I came across none other than Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May while they were filming for their latest episode of Top Gear. Needless to say I was super excited to see this, being of fan of theirs and the show.

Fortunately, my girlfriend and I both happened to have a cameras at the ready. We shot these from the car as we slowly drove by, so I apologize for the less than stellar quality.

Jeremy Clarkson looking right at me, and probably warning everyone of some crazies with big cameras on the loose.

Finally, some of the camera crew. I saw at least 5 cameras positioned along about a 1 mile stretch of this road.

This was definitely great fun and super lucky to witness.

That's cooler than the other side of the pillow! I guess the USA will get to see this episode in about 2013.

BBC-2 is where it is broadcasted from. You can download torrents of the shows usually within a couple hours of when it airs on sunday nights. Visit FinalGear.com :: There's Fifth Gear, There's Top Gear, And Then There Is Final Gear to download pretty much any episode in high quality.

I think I heard they were at VIR earlier this week for a few days. Pretty awesome you got to see them in person! It's definitely on my list of things to do if I ever visit London.
