Manhattan - Post Sandy
After being cooped up for the last few days, the girlfriend and I decided to explore the city. The subway system was still down and the traffic was so bad that walking was the only option for getting around.
Without subway service the streets were more crowded, but other than that the city was normal where there was power. Once we got south of 34th street however, most of the power was out and many streets were dark. The strangest thing wasn’t the darkness, but the lack of people. My girlfriend was not happy that I wanted to take pictures near an empty parking garage so we had to continue until we found some traffic to light the streets near the Flatiron Building.
