Hawaiian Hiring up to 30 more

Mec is meeting this week with management. I think they get 3 days of negotiations, hopefully they make progress. I believe the meditator is on our side saying how ridiculous its getting.
Everything moves at a snails pace. Then they probably do the 30 cooling off, then maybe meet one or two more times.

have a good source that told me the following.
there were 54 in the pool awhile back when they sent a memo out.
since then they put 18 in a class. the class in Dec will have 12 more.
so if no one left the pool, that leaves 24 in the pool after Dec class.

with the new vacancy bid, it will depend on what everyone currently there bids. A lot of the pilots on the 717 like it because they are home ever night. But then again maybe all the junior ones bid 321 so they can get out of the seat lock (if HAL contract allows this) and then there will be lots of vacancies on the 717. At other airlines there is always a lot of shifting around when a new fleet is introduced. Bottom line you will not know until the bid closes.

I am a poolie myself and the flight ops management told me their best prediction that I would be called sometime in March (I interviewed almost at the end of June). I am guessing they plan to call in maybe 8-ish people a month next year. But who knows?

After reading the latest union update, it sounds like everything just came screeching to a halt. I would not expect anything soon with the holidays and a Presidential inauguration coming.
ETA: No industry contract or release for a strike anytime soon. Looks like both sides are digging in for a long battle. FUPM!
