I went to the bnsf interview and took the written test. It seemed pretty easy as most of it was reading comp stuff. Somehow I managed to botch it!!! Any how working on the railroad is much like airline life from what I hear. Only you risk being on reserve much longer aka an "extra board". And they will call at all odd hours of the night and day once you get your legal rest.

Base just depends on where you apply to work. Expect to be on the road A LOT. A lot more than aviation for sure.
