I hope Capt. Happy realizes what a major embarrassment he is for all of us.

It was on the Today show too. Al Roker laughing.

I didn't think it was all that big of a deal, a little spat, then over. And saying 'good morning'. Terse, but not berzerk, and not yelling. Not some cop billy clubbing some sorority girl. Total non event blown out of proportion by the press and the internet. I'm not sure if it wasn't edited from original content. It was the Capt. Happy remark by who knows who that gave it legs.

OK, thanks.

Carl
We're not businessmen, we're pilots. We don't wear our jackets while we're in the seat, do we? Well, maybe the long sleeve (domestic) guys do.

Carl,

It's a uniform, not an Armani suit. If pilot dress had some relation to haute couture, then half the guys I fly with wouldn't be wearing clip on ties. It's only recently that my wife convinced me that I'm horribly out of touch and I should ditch the pleated black pants and go with flat fronts....that's my nod to high fashion. Not sure that double breasted suits are really "in" at the moment either.

The 'long sleeves' reference comes from a highly scientific theorem among aviators that establishes a strong correlation between use of long sleeve pilot shirts and toolish behaviour.

Apparently "Good Morning America" also.

Wouldn't surprise me to see it on the evening news tonight.

UK daily mail saying the incident happened on landing.

'Settle down, Captain Happy': Shocking audio revealed of heated exchange between a Delta pilot and air traffic controller

By Joshua Gardner

The argument occurred as the pilot landed on the wrong runway at the Atlanta airport

The pilot took offense at what he called the controller's 'bad attitude' over the mistake

Shocking audio of a heated exchange between a Delta pilot and an air traffic controller has flyers wondering just who's in charge of keeping them safe during air travel.

All the more disturbing is the time when moment the argument occurred: just as the pilot was landing the jet at the Atlanta airport on the wrong runway.

'Like, oh my God, there's another plane out there like six miles away,' mocks the pilot.

The 727 could freeze your outboard side on a long flight. One F/O said he was going to cut a black sweater in half vertically and just wear the right side --- saving the left side for when he upgraded.

Default Puerto Rico? Saint Thomas?

Looking at getting away with the family next month for 5-6 days. Kids will, hopefully, have their passports by then but if not, anyone have the gouge on any good deals at either of these? Thanks in advance...DW

We've done PR several times with 2 young kids. Check out Luquillo, about 45 minutes east of SJU. The first time I found a 3BR condo on VRBO. The second time we went down there I got an awesome deal at the Melia on Priceline.

There are several nice public beach (balnearios?) nearby, and some decent places to eat without breaking the bank. Also pretty close to El Yunque rainforest. Another 20 minutes or so to the east near Fajardo you can do a phosphorescent canoe trip at night in a lagoon - pretty cool if your kids are a little older.
