Remember---TWA pilots who were 'integrated'into AA, didn't approve/disapprove or have any comment on the content or provisions of terms and conditions of Supplement CC to the APA CBA. It was crammed down our throat with no input or feedback from our group whatsoever.

APA (with ALPA's help and tacit approval) crafted all of Supp CC, and you'll just have to live with it.

hiring within a year, expecting fatalities from thousands of FO's who will be shot from cannons on their way to wide body CA's.

Just curious..........is there anything in the current AA/APA contract (CC) that requires STL to remain at any level from a pilot domicile staffing standpoint ?

How many pilots are based there now ?

Seriously, AA is a quagmire of contractual furlough issues and flow through issues. Until they seriously are in need of pilots there's nothing going on there.

I suspect there will be an instant need for more pilots once the FAA changes the duty rest rules.

As of Dec 2010: 626 pilots in STL

The short answer is yes. The size of the STL base has to remain proportional to the size of ORD and DFW. That's as simple an explanation I can provide, and a more complex explanation is probably beyond my abilities.

The only way to close STL is to change Supp CC (or close ORD and DFW?), which would invite all kinds of litigation. Something APA has no interest in...

Correct. The number of CC-protected CA positions in STL must equal 30% of all CA positions in ORD/DFW.

What about history, the ATA, and costs don't you get. If you were going for humor, you succeeded...

Well, 30% of all NB and SWB CA positions at ORD/DFW. Additionally, the minimum CA number is proportional to fleet size, which AA is under the minimum threshold. So in a large expansion or purchase of another carrier, the number of STL CA's would have to grow provided the 30% and fleet size thresholds were met.

Anyone know if this is the time of year that the seniority list is updated? I just noticed I'm 200+ numbers lower than I was yesterday.
