No Matter what a bunch of white tube sock with sandals wearing pilots say you can't argue the marketing success of this video. 3.8 million hits on YouTube in just four days. Over 35,000 likes. Over 10,000 traceable "shares". Even Fox News likes it! There has been so much free advertisement surrounding this video it definitely will pay its own bills.

Just as a clarification of points made in this tread. 8 different inflight members of virgin America appear in the video. However none of them are primary's. And the video was in production before the DOT fine was issued and had no bearing on its creation.

The company knew about the investigation WELL BEFORE the fine was issued. Regulations.gov

A five minute video? Reminds me of Tom Sizemore in Black Hawk Down...

"You'll be ready in five minutes? Nothing takes five minutes."

Will they need to do another video in a week when they start letting them use electronic devices?

"It had a good beat and it was easy to dance to"

Dieter (Sprocket's) or American Bandstand?

I think it would be safe to assume a safety video usually isn't on the mind of a person on Travelocity.com looking for the cheapest ticket. It may make a person think twice about looking at the Virgin website because they saw a cool video on Youtube. But the price of the ticket on the route traveled is the bottom line for MOST people.

VX just spends money it doesn't have on things that it doesn't need.

Isn't it time for the biannual uniform revamp?

I like the way the cattle in coach are all seated with massive, ginormous seat pitch and overall spacing.

I'd like to see the video done with correct seat layout. That would be a hoot. All the waving and contortions, they'd be beating each other senseless; bloody noses and the like.

Good point. But it is a safety video.

You ever watch the commercials for legacy airlines? Seems to concentrate on first/business class images. As if EVERYBODY will be enjoying such a lavish travel experience. They should be showing the cramped coach seats, overstffed bins, fat people spilling over from their own seat to the one next to them, etc.

The image they sell and reality are two entirely different things (re Legacy carriers). Fly the friendly skies?? There's nothing friendly going on in economy.
