Check airman, chief pilot, instructor..........
No failures, incidents or accident, 1 speeding ticket from the 90s.
BA and MBA with above 3.5 gpa. Had Check and Set review my app and got a "anytime now" a year ago. I have my apps out for years to all majors and LCCs. Meanwhile, United is giving preferential interviews to fresh CFIs at Commutair that are playing stupid guard games over the east coast.
Sir, C5 doesn't monitor guard. Next guess, please.

That is a pretty harsh thing to say. Not all Degree programs and schools are made equal. Maybe the guy had a wife and kids to take care of while going full time to school. I started my aviation career as a mechanic first as well, I hate for these fellow pilots think that all A&P's got 3.5 gpas without having to put in any effort.

There's been a .5 GPA inflation, with an estimated 50% reduction in work done outside of the classroom, between 1981-2010.

So there's a good chance, depending upon everyone's age, that low scores from years ago might be significantly higher today.

And that's how I became a 3.8. ;-)

I have sources in the Standards department that caught those culprits and gave them an earful. I would have preferred termination.

Quick question. Trying to help some people. If you fail a checkride do you need to click both boxes in the addendums on airline apps? One says "have u ever failed any portion of flight training" the other says "have u ever failed a checkride, phase check, etc" if you had a busted ride where did you put it? Hate to click too many boxes if you don't have to. Thanks!

My take on that question is that if it was a check ride bust you did not fail a portion of flight training you just had to be retested. So I would say No to the failed flight training and yes to failed checkride.
This was backed up by the company that did my application review as well.

Airline apps says you have to check both boxes. Hmmm

Default Got an email invite from Delta

Posting this for comparison. I've been reading APC for years, and I thought it would be another year or two before I got a chance to interview. I'm well aware that many of you are far more qualified than I am, and are still waiting. I wish I had some insight into what triggered this. I honestly have no idea.

121 regional captain (recent upgrade)
TT 4,700
SIC TURBINE 3,400
PIC TURBINE 108
no checkride fails ever
0 internal recs (I was waiting to use them when I had more TPIC)
Airline App letters of recommendation from Delta pilots: 4
2 speeding tickets (both more than 7 years ago)
1 Juvenile stupidity arrest (did community service & learned my lesson)
WIA 2015 / NGPA 2016
one fix-it email FEB -2016 (neglected to update my medical date)
App has been in since 11/2014
BS aviation degree - 3.9 college GPA
moderate volunteer experience

As near as I can tell, my app got scored in Feb, right after I attended NGPA (thus the fix-it email). It is my understanding that they only score the app once a year, so I don't know how I ended up getting an email now. I'm posting to show that the email can come at any time, and even those of you with some black marks on their app (my arrest, low PIC) shouldn't lose hope.

Congrats. I ave very similar stats. My G.P.A. is a bit lower and I had one checkride failure. No arrests. Out of curiosity, I heard Delta wants you to have finished college in 4 years so how long did it take you? PM me if you don't want to answer.
