So young aspiring pilots need this thread to learn that if one drinks too much they are in jeopardy of certificate and law enforcement action? I'm dumbfounded.

It serves an important purpose... It shows everyone, new and old timers, that you have to be very smart on layovers and ensure your fit to fly the next day. I don't know either pilot... But heard they are both on probation... End result will not be good.

It is a cautionary tale. Remember LHR security can accuse you even if you trip going through security!

It sucks to always be under the microscope. Ya'll be careful out there.

If that has to be said then that's not what has to be said.

- Steer clear of social media
- Keep most things to youself / be discreet inpublic and when interacting while on the clock (general rule covering A to Z stuff)
- Always obey the law

I hope the situation with the guys is resolved successfully and without major ramifications.

Not true unless they took leave time. I dont think many in this thread understand the strictness of europes policy. Being "drunk" is blowing the equivalent of a .02. You can blow a .01 sober as a bird with machine error and naturally occuring alcohols. These guys need to have our benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Being arrested isn't a conviction or admission of guilt.

My bad... they are past probationary year... I misread a post.

No, it's not going to be good for them but it's not a reason to repeat here-say or pile-on. A public forum is not a place for any United pilot to discuss the issue, especially since they haven't been before the magistrate.

Nah, not out to get UA guys. This was already public knowledge.
You ever heard about PPRuNe?
You are barking up the wrong tree.
