Are they laying people off or offering jobs elsewhere?

This is the start, of the beginning of the Regional Airline downfall. A majority of Regional Airlines will be bankrupt inside of 10 years, unless the pay and benifits are as good as the majors.

Seaport is a 135 carrier and their hiring minimums were something like 500TT. I doubt that "pilot shortage" is the real reason.

Wut?

Pay and benefits will never come up to mainline standards. Mainline will be taking a large portion of their flying back over the next decade, but regionals will certainly still be around. Not in their current form, but they will still be around.

Wow! Guess there's no reason to call Hailey back. Sorry to hear it. San Diego was pretty much the only base I was interested in. Best to those involved..

They'll somehow pull a Great Lakes and hang on by half a thread for another 5 years

On Airliners.net, someone mentioned that they may have had half of the fleet repo'ed this past week.
