After looking over the CAL reserve rules outlined above, they SUCK. Don't know how/where your rumor started, but I can see a HUGE rejection of CAl work (reserve) rules if that was presented to the UAL guys for vote. I'm quite sure it would go down in flames. So your rumor sounds completely logical - Of course management would have started there (CAL rules). And with enough negotiating and convincing, hopefully they see how futile that attempt would be.
