The gear looks the same, but is re-designed and will now allow easy pinning for towing. The door is now hydraulic (not electric with pulley and cable).

Almost every system is a new design. This includes new engines, T-tail, wings (scaled G550 airfoil), fuel system, avionics, flight controls, brakes (brake by wire with autobraking), hydraulics, vacuum lav, standard autothrottles, optional HUD/EVS/Synthetic Vision etc. Performance will also be best in class.

It is more accurate to compare the G280 systems to the G550/650 than a G200. About the only carry over is nosewheel steering which works great so no need to fix it.

Changing the name to be more acceptable in a market that tends to buy 50+ aircraft at a time seems like a reasonable decision.
Correct on all counts GDriver1.
