When I applied back in 2009, I had an ATP, PIC Jet type rating, PIC Jet/T-prop time, 2500 (plus) total time with about 1500 multi-engine turbine, NO check ride failures, and an Associates degree (at the time, a Bachelors degree was NOT required). I never heard a peep from HR. Not even the dreaded “Thanks but No Thanks” letter in the mail.
Now, on the flip side, I have heard of people being hired with less then 1500 hours total time, barely any multi-engine time, an ATP written, and multiple check ride failures. I guess it all depends on what their “flavor of the week” is on the day they receive your application?
Anyway, that’s my 2 cents…take it for what it’s worth.
