With the "golden 8" coming back on line and the upcoming upgrades, will CA's be staffed (somewhat) appropriately this fall given the increase in fleet size?
No

We are way understaffed on CA right now. We are taking delivery of 3 more a/c, with only 8 more upgrades planned. On top of that, we'll have about 20 timing out by year's end. It's only going to get worse.

Where are you getting your numbers? 20 pilots timing out in 2011?

Still conducting limited interviews for classes in late 2011 / early 2012. These classes are for projected attrition, so dates / class sizes are subject to change. If DL picks up some flows, we'll be hiring like gangbusters again. If not, the classes will likely be small (2-4 new hires) 2x a month.

Another note: If you were DENIED an interview, it's either because you made a mistake on your application / didn't fill it out completely, you don't meet ALL the minimum requirements (not just ATP mins), or they found the skeletons in your closet. If you simply haven't received a call yet, be patient, grasshopper. If you're qualified and you've submitted a complete application, you'll likely get a call in the next couple months. The training dept just needs some time to get through their backlog.

Good luck!
Well, got the denied interview email again. Maybe I need more current time? I've only done around 30 over the last 6 months....do you think they want to see 100 or more? More current multi time? Everything else should be spot on for this.

Thoughts from people that know....

It may very well be lack of recent experience. Do you have an aviation job currently, or are you just flying on the side for fun?

I have a part-time job as a flight instructor. Not a whole lot of flying, but enough to keep my skills up. Might need to try and get some more students! Otherwise, I can't see what the problem is. No FAA problems, a jet type rating, 121 experience (been almost 2 years now though), and decent flight time. The only thing I can think of is low hours of current experience.

Is your application filled out thoroughly, and correctly?

I believe it is. If something isn't filled out, it usually "tells" me so.
