How to get a Compass Interview?
#13
When I applied back in 2009, I had an ATP, PIC Jet type rating, PIC Jet/T-prop time, 2500 (plus) total time with about 1500 multi-engine turbine, NO check ride failures, and an Associates degree (at the time, a Bachelors degree was NOT required). I never heard a peep from HR. Not even the dreaded “Thanks but No Thanks” letter in the mail.
Now, on the flip side, I have heard of people being hired with less then 1500 hours total time, barely any multi-engine time, an ATP written, and multiple check ride failures. I guess it all depends on what their “flavor of the week” is on the day they receive your application?
Anyway, that’s my 2 cents…take it for what it’s worth.

Thanks for the info mrb and Lax. Just wondering what there current hiring plan is for 2011 and if there were any phones currently ringing. Re-updated last week and have the "preferred" requirements, minus the 121.

Also less than 3 check ride failures...I tried to help a friend who had a few and they didn't interview him.
It took over a year to call me for an interview.

Since they are owned by Trans States, do you have to get hired by them, or does Compass still do their own hiring, etc? I have had my app with them for a while and not even a phone call or a an F YOU letter hah. Got 3000TT, 500 Jet PIC with 1000 in the E170... any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

If you want a job at Compass, meet these qualifications:
-4 Year Degree
-ATP mins as per FAR § 61.159
-have an ATP certificate, OR have the ATP written completed
-good work history/progression
-good training record
-no criminal history
-clean driving record
-and meet the other requirements posted on the website
I'm pretty sure if you meet these metrics, you'll be called. Although, I hear they're only hiring for a pool now.
Good luck!
