We agreed to a new contract in December, the only section the two sides couldn't agree on was pay rates. The company and union were scheduled to go to baseball style arbitration next month. Mgmt. released their proposal in hopes of avoiding the arbitration. Basically, they want us to maintain the current pay rates (which were negotiated in 2001 and will be lower than Colgan in a few years), increase our monthly medical costs, impose more restricitions on our scheduling section and add a "force majeur" clause that will let them amend our agreement in the event of some catastrophe or "new competitive threat".

In exchange we get a guaranteed interview at Alaska, a 3% bonus based on 2013 wages if we remain with the company through that year (which ends up being less than a normal paycheck after taxes) and Captains with more than 12 years who go to AS get a bonus to help transition.

This proposal is just a rotted baby carrot being dangled in our face.
