I think it was PG who asked for examples of people in ALPA leadership taking a management job. I'm quite sure PG is senior to me, but he may not have remembered the situation I mentioned in my earlier post, or he simply may not have been aware of it.
I personally haven't had dealings with WS and am not seeking revenge of any kind. JM was the SLC LEC Chairman as well as the SLC Chief Pilot while I have been based in SLC. I'm not seeking any "revenge" there either. Now that I think about it, there was another SLC ALPA representative who became a Chief Pilot. His initials are JS.
Here's another one, and you may consider it "ancient history", but it is true:
Former Senior Vice President of Flight Operations Dave Greenberg was an ALPA negotiator prior to moving to management. He's been gone for a while as well, but it happened.
Okay, I had to Google him. The internet says he worked for Delta for 28 years in management. Am I to believe that ALPA trained a guy so well that Delta kept him on their side of a table for almost 30 years? Either our negotiators are really really good or this guy really wanted to be a manager and not a pilot. Looks like he's at KAL now.
I don't really care whether he chose a different path later in life. Did he do good as an ALPA rep? Conversely, did he rape us as a company goon? Lastly does this matter today in the world where we have oversight and no one in recent times has "crossed over to the dark side" ?
