If by "insider" you mean committee chairs, then probably yes. Right now, with the exception of two committees, YOUR elected LEC reps do not get to vote on who is a committee chairman. To do so would require a policy manual change and I am guessing that is a 2/3 vote to pass the MEC.
My guess is if that policy manual change were made (doubtful), then you would see several committee chairs change as they would no longer be selected by the MEC chairman.
