Alaska is where it is at for flying under 1000 hours and VFR. Heck, some places will hire you under 500 hours. A lot of 135s up here are certified to fly VFR without a flight plan as long as the aircraft is Capstone (ADS-B) equipped (and many are). The only requirement is for someone in the dispatch office to keep an eye on your progress on their integrated computer program. There is one guy (who has the IFR rating) who hasn't flown IFR for the company in over 10 years and he still seems to me a profitable asset for them. You do a good job keeping your anonymity when you list what you fly and there is only one company in the entire United States let alone Alaska that recieved a Standard Airworthy for that Plane.
