My kids address all adults by mr/mrs...or yes sir no ma'am. Why? Because I have taught them that adults deserve respect. They don't "need" to know them.....
I think congress could learn a thing or two about respecting one another..... or maybe we are on our way to be the British House of Commons or the S Korean house where they get into fist fights?
Everyone has a right to believe what they wish. I respect your rights to do so.....
What you are referring to is respecting the office of the president. Yes most Americans respect the office because we honor the country and the constitution, but this does not mean we have to respect the man in the office.
King George was the most powerful man in the world in 1775, didn't show him much respect did we? I can name a few other adults who don't deserve much respect either. Not everyone deserves blind repect, it's earned.
Seriously, if you had a son, would you tell him to grow up and act just like Bill Clinton, because he was the president and one to emulate.
