D seems to fit the best
I worked a REAL job for over a decade before becoming a full time pilot. I did have to take a pay cut at first but not a big one. Before I started flying I made about $40K/ year and lived comfortably, my first year flying I made $33K. I refused to take a job that paid less than $30K a year since that was what I need to live the life style I do, and I also belive it's wrong for highly trained and generally educated professional to work for less than what the guy at the drive thru makes.
BTW I don't whine about low pilot saleries since I get paid fairly well and refuse to fly for peanuts. But I do think that the low saleries other pilots accept are wrong! So I don't consider it whining, more protesting!
