If i was looking to start somewhere my take would be FedEx would have a more secure/pleasant future for the newhire. From my side of the fence FedEx seems better now for pilots and past practice has shown it will most likely stay that way.
I agree that FedEx is the place to be at the moment. Fred will not live forever however. His attitude towards pilots is the only thing that keeps them in the good graces over there. I believe more than a few of the upper management types still hold a grudge you guys went union all those years ago.

Who would have ever thought UPS would furlough. After all, a profitable company had never done it before. Things change. Don't live in a vacuum.
