The furlough happened instead.

If i was looking to start somewhere my take would be FedEx would have a more secure/pleasant future for the newhire. From my side of the fence FedEx seems better now for pilots and past practice has shown it will most likely stay that way.
I agree that FedEx is the place to be at the moment. Fred will not live forever however. His attitude towards pilots is the only thing that keeps them in the good graces over there. I believe more than a few of the upper management types still hold a grudge you guys went union all those years ago.

Who would have ever thought UPS would furlough. After all, a profitable company had never done it before. Things change. Don't live in a vacuum.

Completely inappropriate Czech! Karma is a bad thing.

Wonder why no one is starting a thread about UPS prospects?
No one starts a UPS prospects thread because the prospects are less than stellar at the moment. I wish it were otherwise.

I believe there are unhappy groups at every airline. Don't think that everyone is unhappy though. While I had a job there I thought it was great. I did think that the "management" structure was draconian at best. I believe that little gem will go away much sooner than people on the fence believes. Maybe then we can start a thread about prospects.

Till then I will keep working my crap job while I am on the street!
