To help with CFI might I recommend The Flight Instructor's Manual, part of the late William Kershner's flight manual series. It's close to 2 inches thick and is basically a meticulous, step by step guide of how to teach someone to fly an airplane. I discovered it on my own but my current commercial/cfi instructor recommended it strongly and actually did spin training with Kershner several years ago.
