Default Military Flying and the Warrior Ethos

Don't worry, the military is still a great place to fly. It is not as good as it once was, but it is still great. Like any institution with a bureaucracy and group-think, many ill-advised things happen.

That being said, it is still a better place for me than going back (right now) to the airline biz.

What pains me is seeing how we came out of the morass of Vietnam to re-invent and reinvigorate the miltary for Desert Storm, only to see it wither away again through political tragedy.

I'm not sure the renewal can be done again, at least, to the same extent. But as 727C47 opined, there are Lts and Capts (and a lot of enlisteds in all the services) out there who still think like warriors.
