There are 7 held seats on that flight for crew breaks. 3 for the pilots and 4 for the flight attendants. If there is a seat in Business then the pilots get it for a rest seat and that opens up 3 seats in coach (rare). Good luck, have back ups if you have a schedule to meet.
3 pilot rest seats? Are you guys all on break at the same time, or is there a crew deadheading to fly back to EWR? Is there any provision in the CAL contract that requires business or better for DH for flights longer than XX?
