Yea, three coach seat with seat contours, cracks, and not enough room to get out of the fetal position. Poor rest and a sore neck is worse than no rest at all. Another reason to vote "no" in the next contract. First class rest or "no" vote.

Thanks to all for the run down on the EWR-HNL flight. My wife and daughter decided to stick with SFO/LAX.

Sorry to hear of the extremely poor crew rest conditions on the 757/767. That is unacceptable, and will certainly need to be fixed along with DH seat assignments on our joint contract.

Thanks again,

SP

Our procedures are "...fully approved and closely monitored by the FAA, meet or exceed safety standards, and we are a safe airline," United Airlines spokeswoman Julie King said.

IOW, we do nothing more than the bare minimum that the FAA requires.

Well, isn't industry standard the mantra around here?....except for executive compensation that is.

Wow. How things have changed. In 2000 ish, the dc10 went away and UAL wanted to fly a 2-class 777 on the ORD-HNL route. ALPA had an agreement that stated the rest facility in a 777 would be a bunk or a "Genesis" f/c seat with a wrap around curtain. UAL wanted ALPA to agree to a regular ol' f/c seat as a rest facility (as the 2-class had neither a bunk, nor Genesis seats). Neither side backed down. The ORD-HNL flight ceased for years.

I call b/s on coach seats for crew rest. That is crazy. It's bad enough deadheading in econ +. Especially to HI or on a transcon!!!

It's word for word what Colgan said to Congress. It's bullet number two of the exec's non-normal for bad press, right behind bullet number one, "I bear no personal responsibility for what goes on in my company."
