Wow. How things have changed. In 2000 ish, the dc10 went away and UAL wanted to fly a 2-class 777 on the ORD-HNL route. ALPA had an agreement that stated the rest facility in a 777 would be a bunk or a "Genesis" f/c seat with a wrap around curtain. UAL wanted ALPA to agree to a regular ol' f/c seat as a rest facility (as the 2-class had neither a bunk, nor Genesis seats). Neither side backed down. The ORD-HNL flight ceased for years.

I call b/s on coach seats for crew rest. That is crazy. It's bad enough deadheading in econ +. Especially to HI or on a transcon!!!
