That is surprising.....not that I think salaries in that range are unreasonable for the services of a professional pilot. One would think that just the aeronautical universities are pumping out tons of graduates with no place to go. Heck, for 60k per year I would go back to instructing part time if they couldn't find anyone else at my local flight school :-)
