The sentiment that Great BH brought to this airline years ago has evaporated and there is little trust remaining.
How these guys can keep sending cryptic e-mails and memos and think we will keep buying it amazes me.
The career lifers will be fine. They'll retire when their chance comes up, perhaps even as a 20 year FO on reserve, on the junior aircraft, in the junior base.
SKYW Inc. financial call this morning as well.
Don't worry, they're thanking the employees for their hard work. *whatever*
Word up. I'm still not sure though how much of it is Brad's doing. I think middle management is the biggest problem. BH is the CEO though, so ultimately, the buck stops with him. He needs to make some hard decisions and fire some people... cough cough CT and SH cough cough. If he can't make the hard decisions, then he needs to be replaced too with someone who can.
Our maintenance is a big concern of mine too. They are not providing us with quality mechanics and not providing the mechanics the resources they need. They tried to send us with a failed elevator PCU a few weeks back. Which, as a matter of fact, is second time that same scenario happened to me, and twice they tried to send us. Then we had a bird strike that caused a dent in the wing. I've done previous walk arounds on that plane that day, and I know that dent was not there. Nor was there a sticker or mark on that spot showing documented damage. It was right where the bird hit the wing. Maintenance came out and looked at it and claimed the dent was already there per a previous write up. Conveniently it was many logbooks ago. They just didn't want to do what is required for that. Either because they don't have the resources, or just wanted to get the plane out of there, or both. We felt confident the plane was safe, but its the principle of it. Sick of the pull the circuit breaker to clear the fault as the standard practice too. This not only has us flying around with broken equipment, but the delays just pile up because the same thing keeps breaking over and over. Rather than just fix it and be done with it.
Its clear that there needs to be some big changes. This place is headed right down the drain right now. You hit the nail on the head. I too have lost faith in them. It amazes me how no one is held responsible for anything and that Brad is just allowing it to happen. Kind of like our country. I know I'm going to leave as soon as I can. Been here almost 4 years and only 145 people below me, no upgrade in sight, and now moving backwards.
