I don't think you're stupid at all. I stayed at my CFI job which I loved and paid me (salaried!) twice as much as any 1st year FO at any regional until I had about 1800TT and 335 Multi. Home every night, weekends off, and a very easy schedule. Nothing but multi flights and checkrides with the occasional CFI thrown in there to make it look like "work". The main reason I left was a shift in management and it's hard to build multi turbine in a seminole Enjoy the ride now while you can, cuz my QOL took a nose dive come regional time.
