The only thing i am going to say is Seniority is EVERYTHING in this business. If you think long term you want to be with the airlines than good god get in as soon as possible. Just for instance right now at XJT we are hiring 80 new hires a month. By waiting till April then you do the math on how many people would be a head of you. I agree with him, and from most of the people in the majors that I've spoken with, they agree that Seniority is EVERYTHING. Its not just your pay, but its your QOL.
I came across the same situation, and I was asked to stay at a certain flight school, even offered a guarantee of pay per month, but after thinking about it long term, my QOL in the future is much more important than helping my old boss out by staying around. Plus I can deal with some crappy QOL stuff for now since it will make things that much better in the end.
