There was too much unknown with starting off as an FO and potential for losing so much that I have right now. Anyways...I hope you guys have a great experience and are happy. I hope to not regret my decision. Keep your head in the books and your head out of the bars. Then you can keep your head in the bars as often as one finds fit.
You made the right choice. There is no way I would give up a regional FO job making 55K in order to make 17000 as a FO and 32000 as a captain. Commuting from the north bases is going to be hard and who knows when we'll get upgraded to captain. I'd keep enjoying life at the regional your at, work towards that upgrade, and when (if) the hiring takes off in the next year or two, look at some of the companies that don't require turbine PIC time, (Allegiant and Delta etc).
For someone in my situation however, I think it is a descent gig.
