However, with TWA pilots and their lawyers asking for 1.4 billion dollar$, several legal experts are predicting an eventual award of several hundred million dollar$.

That is after they examine the award on a pilot by pilot basis to determine the extent of ALPA's negligence to DFR for each individual pilot.

Facts:

Yes, this will take time.

No, insurance will not cover all of that for several reasons

A. It was premeditated and willfull negligence.

B. Practically no one is covered for that amount of money and it is unlikely that ALPA, that has lost cases like this before, was covered for that much. Who would underwrite them on their previous record??

Finally, there are serious allegations involving the legal misconduct of ALPA lawyer(s) that where involved in this case that could possibly further prejudice the award amount in this case.


In a brief recap, not good. Guess who will be asked to help out with this monetarily??
