Alaska is in the negotiating process. Right now, the discussions are about the sections in the contract that, basically, can be discussed and "agreed" to, without any "changes". The parts of the contract that take longer to discuss, such as PAY, come about down the road. We've just begun negotiations a couple of weeks ago. So Alaska is fairly early in the process. Time will tell.

Not sure if the voices told me this, or it's real. But, didn't Alaska have mandatory arbitration as part of the contract? Something like, if no agreement is reached on a certain number of sections...They would automatically go to binding arbitration?
Or, is it something from a past contract, I'm thinking of.
