Interesting... So you don't let newer SICs fly?? Maybe I'm reading that incorrectly.
I let my SIC fly on leg 1 after IOE (observing operational limitations). That said, I don't fly for XO. I just find that to be an odd policy. All of our SICs are qualified to fly the airplane.
