The bad thing about never holding another flying job prior to going to any regional, is that when one gets furloughed, he is far less likely to find a 91 or 135 job to tide him over until the recall. A 135 operator will look at 2000 TT, 1700 Turbine SIC with no real "signing for the aircraft" PIC and say "Thanks, but no thanks."

I know they are promising upgrade at 1500, but all it takes is a bunch of crazy oil speculators, a third dip in this recession, or an act of the almighty, and hiring and upgrades stop. You might be able to deal with a crappy situation for a couple of years, but what if that turns into six or seven?
