Here's my experience after 2 months on R24 (MD-10/11)
- I was assigned HSTBY for EVERY block of r days (I'm not sure that was the intent of R24?)
- You are required to "block out" 60 minutes after hotel notification (it's actually in the contract). I'm not sure that can be done safely. I DO NOT rush like a crazy person ...
- I was frequently assigned hub turns 24 hours in advance
- because they are required to give you the most notification, they call you FIRST (assuming there is 24 hours notice, of course). That might mean an alert call at home at 3am to notify you of your 3am show the next day!*? There must be a better system?
- I got called off HSTBY to d/h to Europe
- One of the 2 months I actually got an extra day or two at home but it didn't work out nearly as well as I hoped it might for a commuter.
