Carl,
You have to understand why we did not grive the RAH scope violation (another instance where the DPA observes the patient with a fever and prescribes the wrong medicine).
OBJECTIVE PATHOLOGY :
In our scope model, we think we benefit from outsourcing. The savings from outsourcing makes Delta more profitable and we pilots more highly paid. Cut throat competition amongst DCI carriers is what drives that savings.
Republic is competitor that lowers costs. In ALPA's way of thinking, that is good for us.
DPA's MIS-DIAGNOSIS :
DPA alleges ALPA's "conflict of interest" caused this disease as a result of a secret alliance with regional pilots to undermine mainline bargaining. However, in this case the pathogen is represented by Teamsters, not ALPA.
CORRECT DIAGNOSIS :
Outsourcing is a form of dis-unity which undermines both regional and mainline interests. Republic is no different than any other outsourced vendor. The body will only return to health when all of its parts are restored to is.
The DPA has got to stop prescribing leg casts for patients presenting signs of cancer. Ineffective treatment will get ineffective results.
