Is there anyone or any method available to clear the CAPT's good name?? and? to insure HIS integrity?? because without security cameras at every corner, we as Men(as we are the majority in our field) could be accused of nearly anything by anybody!
(sexual harassment, bigotry, homophobia etc) and there is a presumption of guilt rather than innocence that seems to prevail. all calls to TOMC will soon be recorded because we can't even disagree without someone flinging scurrilous accusations of "this or that" around where every question about an airplane is now perceived as a "set-up" for skulduggery. How is it we can Die together in battle but we can no longer even discuss and come to an agreement, or agree to disagree as gentlemen?? I'm coming up on 30yrs and i just turned 60. And I MISS the time I could say Mornin' Capt. how might I help you"? And have a "Civil" conversation about our mutual passion. Airplanes and flying. I still believe in what I'm doing and I Love what I do but it would be really nice to turn back the page and just CHILL out a little. And worse than This? I don't see it getting much better in the near future. for ANY of us. Isn't that a shame?? Happy Holidays!!
Referring to your first paragraph, who said this was the end of it, and why draw a conclusion surmounted by so much fear?? Can you not defend yourself like Captain Rood? You will never win the WAR without first, a hard fought and earnest win in each battle, and this is but one battle that each of us must be willing to fight. The broader question is about respect. I've seen Captains receive an abundance of it but I've also seen far too many throw in the towel even after raising the white flag. You want respect? You must earn it, and that means starting with holding yourselves (pilots) in the highest regard.
This profession will never get stronger until we begins to lift those weights that are much heavier.
S51, with your ~30 years, I trust that you're not past the time to understand that because if you are, you might leave this industry realizing your prediction...
