Thats rich! Or poor... any way funny as hell!
Ok heres the nuts and bolts. GIA is a pay for 121 time, anyone who will try to justify taking up space that should be a paid position with a straight face is out of thier mind. Not to mention bending the hard working pilots, non trust fund babies over the barrel. Like 99.9% of others it makes me sick to even think about.
Heres a little sweetness. I use to work for a very fun, fraternity style lear/gulfstream 135 in Florida. About three years ago it was time again to do some hiring. The CP sifted through a mile high stack of resumes and picked out a few to get called in for interviews. A couple line pilots and I were pasing by an open door when the CP yelled "hey guys come take a look at these resumes and let me know what you think" One of the guys noticed GIA on two of the chosen resumes. After a long and loud group laugh they hit the bottom of the round file, square onto a half eaten fish sandwich! I have worked with three heavy corp jet 135's and know for a fact that none of them would ever hire a PFT pilot. Period.
Hows that for a short cut in life!
