PFT is a pathetic act because you are paying for a job that someone else should be getting paid to do. Military guys on the other hand are getting paid to fly. Pretty sad that you would even think both are the same.
You are correct - but it is even MORE correct to say that I get paid either way - whether I am flying or not - because I AM NOT a professional pilot.
I get paid for being a military officer. My weapon system seems happens to be an airplane which gives me valuable experience for when I leave the military and I might want to translate that acquired skill to the REAL profession aviation market. Now I may get paid a little extra because I fly - but then so do other high risk jobs.

In a strange way we all PFT at the regional airlines...mostly through low wages the first year. We are simply subsidizing the airline to let us fly, enabling them to obtain some of the dollars spent on training.

GIA goes the complete opposite and wrong direction with this....you are being paid low wages AND shelling out $29,000 at the same time.

It is just WRONG............

Way to revive a dead thread.

Gulfstream Academy = One of the worst things to happen to professional aviation, just like Central Air Southwest's and their "F/O" position that you pay per hour to sit in the right seat.
