Gulfstream - Job Guarentee
#21
I did my commercial ride in a single then got a multi add on. So there's really no need to add that cost in my specific case. Like i said, according to you 10,500 vs 29 g's . You should take a look at the payscale on www.airlinepilotcentral.com . It's really nowhere near the pay you just mentioned. Don't forget that 29 grand is a big loan, that probably has interest on it! I'd rather take the CFI route.

Rightseater, you don't get paid to build time at Gulfstream. You buy the time by paying them. So you are flying straight through thunderstorms and hurricanes, I don't think so. Two CRJ's have already been destroyed at the hands of former Gulfstream academy pilots.
Case 1: Incompetent fools playing with airplane at FL410.
Result: People in a Missouri neighborhood end up with a jet engine in their back yard and their home soaked with JETA.
Case 2: Pilot attempts takeoff from wrong runway with no lights in the dark.
Result: Everyone onboard dead except for the pilot flying who is now seriously disabled. The captain does share some responsibility in this case.
GULFSTREAM pilots have already done enough damage!

flying through hurricanes? yes...the eye wall...obviously no. I've been flying in katrina, wilma, and 3 Tropical Storms. Trust me, a tropical storm is some pretty solid IMC.

Even a place like GoJets does not allow 250 hour heroes to pay 30,000 for the job.

Ok heres the nuts and bolts. GIA is a pay for 121 time, anyone who will try to justify taking up space that should be a paid position with a straight face is out of thier mind. Not to mention bending the hard working pilots, non trust fund babies over the barrel. Like 99.9% of others it makes me sick to even think about.
Heres a little sweetness. I use to work for a very fun, fraternity style lear/gulfstream 135 in Florida. About three years ago it was time again to do some hiring. The CP sifted through a mile high stack of resumes and picked out a few to get called in for interviews. A couple line pilots and I were pasing by an open door when the CP yelled "hey guys come take a look at these resumes and let me know what you think" One of the guys noticed GIA on two of the chosen resumes. After a long and loud group laugh they hit the bottom of the round file, square onto a half eaten fish sandwich! I have worked with three heavy corp jet 135's and know for a fact that none of them would ever hire a PFT pilot. Period.
Hows that for a short cut in life!
