Fellow Council 12 pilots:

On the evening of January 4, 2012, your MEC convened a 3:19 business conference call to discuss and receive briefings regarding our legal and strategic options regarding the CAL MEC Master Chairman negotiating Profit Sharing with management.

As we digest these briefings, it remains clear that we have a strong legal argument and will take the strongest action on all avenues regarding violations to the T&PA and the RLA Section 6 Status Quo.

As this process unfolds, CAL MEC Master Chairman Captain Jay Pierce has just informed us that he will not be attending our Council meeting on January 11, 2012, due to a schedule conflict.

We know you are eager to receive more information. We are facing very important issues and will report the facts to you as they are known and confirmed. We will only act on sound facts and evidence, not on emotion. To achieve this we will not seek instant gratification. The process will be deliberate to achieve the maximum gain for our pilots.

Tomorrow and in the days ahead UAL MEC Master Chairman Captain Jay Heppner will be providing you with more information. Expect more information from us, as well.

Fraternally and in Unity,

Robert C. Ward

Don't know what the "scheduling conflict" is but I'd bet money if this is turning into a legal issue Jay has been advised not to go before a UAL LEC meeting. Just saying.
