As the only non-comm pilot, I can advise that the above posts are all correct.
My wife's a school teacher and she can attest to the horrible school system. But its really not the school so much as the kids in it, so putting trash in a privatet school will - - bring down te school -duh!
I live in that Hacks Cross area , in fact DIRECTLY behind the new high school; football field, baseball field. its like a college campus.
My house is really big, corner lot and the taxes are low. Gotta realize I'm from te northeast, and I work in NY now. It actually works out to be cheaper to commute than try to live up here. So, guys, dis MEM all you want, but wher else in the country can you get a 3b-2ba-2 car 1/3 acre lot for 130k and 1400/yr in taxes? NO WHERE!
Oh yeah, did I mention the ladies of memphis? Its like south florida - only dumber.! Not that that sort of thing interests me................

I highly suggest your family come here, RENT a house for awhile.
Really, RENT. This way your family can decide whther or not they can take it here. Oh yeah, be prepared to be asked to go to church every day by your neighbors and judged if you got one they dont go to. Woe is you if you say Catholic.
Crime? just be smart, im from the bronx like Vito so I can feel when something is amiss, so just use common sense where you drive, park, eat, etc.
Youre a fedex guy now, you make the 300k so spend the extra to check it out.
